Gloucester Museum School Project Adventure occasionally seeks new applicants for various summer positions on our staff.

We are an outdoor expedition style camp, the day is filled with physical exertion, rock climbing, hiking, bouldering and other at times strenuous activities. We are outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions for the entire day. We work in small, closely knit groups, our campers and their emotional and physical well being are our primary focus as GMS employees.

The work experience is intense on many different levels however the rewards are just as intense. We impact the lives of children and young adults in a positive and sometimes life altering ways for both the camper and staff member.

We seek individuals who enjoy the outdoors, a wide range of physical activities, who are great communicators and can work in a intense small group setting. Individuals who understand the nature of expedition style camping, understand the inherent risks involved in adventure travel, who can place the well being and safety of the group first.

Due to the type of camp we are we require all councilors above the age of 15 to have current Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED essentials  certifications.

Those with additional certifications such as AMGA Top Rope Manager Certification, AMGA Rock Guide Certification,  AMGA Rock Instructor Certification, Wilderness EMT, Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid, Back Country Navigation, Wilderness Leadership for Leadership & Development are always needed and sought.

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.”

 Helen Keller
